Bio

Madalena is an Employment of counsel and Head of Employment at the Lisbon office of Gómez-Acebo & Pombo.

Over the years, she has worked in employment law, specialising in matters related to social security and taxation of employment income. She has provided specialised advice on social security matters, in pre-litigation and litigation situations, and on tax matters, especially from the perspective of employment income, including salary processing. She has been particularly involved in matters related to acquisitions, always from a human resources perspective – both in carrying out due diligence processes and in assisting in hiring, domicile transfer and related matters – as well as in pre-litigation and employment litigation. The advice she provides is transversal to the various sectors of activity, but with a special focus on aeronautics, transport and communications, freight forwarding and the industrial, hotel and retail sectors.

She has a law degree from the Faculty of Law of the Portuguese Catholic University – Lisbon School (“UCP”). She has a post-graduate qualification in Taxation from the Instituto Superior de Gestão and a post-graduate qualification in Commercial Law from UCP. At UCP he also attended the Advanced Taxation Programme and the Advanced Accounting and Finance Programme for Non-Financials. She has completed the Intensive Social Security Course at the University of Lisbon Law School.

She is recognised in Portugal by several prestigious legal directories such as Legal 500, Leaders League and Iberian Lawyer.
