Luis is partner of Litigation and Arbitration at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo.

He has extensive experience in litigation and arbitration. In particular, he advises clients on civil and commercial litigation related to, among others, banking, construction, energy, corporate law, agency and distribution agreements and international public and investment law.

Furthermore, Luis has significant experience in domestic and international commercial and investment arbitration, both institutional and ad hoc. At an international level, he has taken part in arbitrations before the Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) and the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce. In Spain Luis has taken part in arbitrations before various institutions such as the Arbitration Court of the Madrid Chamber of Commerce (CAM), the Spanish Court of Arbitration (CEA) and the Civil and Mercantile Arbitration Court (CIMA). He also has experience in annulment proceedings, recognition and the enforcement of arbitral awards.

He has a Law degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (“Autónoma University of Madrid”). He has a master’s degree in Business Management from the Instituto de Empresa (“IE Business School) and a master’s degree Executive in the Improvement of the abilities in Law and Litigation practice Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economía (“ISDE Law Business School”). In addition, he is Technical in the Financial Markets by the Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles, IEB (“Institute of Stock Market Studies, IEB”).

Between January and October 2023, Luis worked as visiting attorney at the Miami office of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan.

Luis has participated as an author in several specialised legal publications and cooperates as teacher in several renowned prestige Universities as Universidad de Navarra (UNAV) (“University of Navarra”), Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de Madrid (ICAM) or Instituto de Empresa (IE).
