Bio
Fernando is a Banking and Finance partner at Gómez-Acebo & Pombo, and Head of the New York office.
He specialises in structured and project finance, takeover bids, insurance, new technologies law, regulation of financial institutions and corporate governance.
He holds a degree in Law with a specialisation in Economic Law from Universidad de Deusto and a PhD in Law from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. In addition, he is a lecturer in civil law. He has also been a visiting researcher at the University of California, Berkeley, a fellow of the Spanish-American (Fulbright Program) Joint Committee and a research associate at the University of London.
He is founder and honorary president of the directors’ association Instituto de Consejeros-Administradores (IC-A).
Fernando is recognised in the prestigious legal directories Chambers and Partners and Legal500 as one of the leading practitioners in the areas of Banking & Finance, Commercial, Corporate and M&A, Project Finance, Projects and energy and Insurance. He is also listed in the International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers in the areas of M&A and Governance and Project Finance.
He has participated as an author or coauthor in several specialised legal publications.
